Watercolor Sketchbook

About two or three years ago I started a watercolor sketchbook. I use it as a way to practice drawing my surroundings (instead of using a picture for reference). It is also a great way, other than a photograph, to document and remember places I have been. In partaking in this activity I have discovered a real appreciation for watercolors that I never had prior. I also have found myself working faster on my watercolor sketches and completing them much quicker now than when I first started. When outside, you definitely have to race the natural light in order to complete the drawing!

In short, I believe it's a great activity for anyone to try- it's a fun way to practice your techniques. Remember to do it for yourself, if you are a nervous beginner, you don't have to share the results with anyone, just enjoy the process!
